| Our History |

In 1991 several local apartment complexes were approached by Bell Atlantic and Virginia Tech to participate in a
joint venture to offer high speed internet access to some of the apartments located in Blacksburg. This was the beginning
of what is know now as the BEV project.On August 1st, 1998 VTACS was formed to take these services into the private sector.
In 1999 we purchased our first DSLAM and started to offer DSL to customers in the Blacksburg town area. In March 2003 we
turned up our first 802.11 wireless deployment and have been running experiments on wireless systems. In 2005 we are
turning our research into reality by opening up our systems for the general public.
